Today Jake and I went to our 2nd appointment with Anne. This appointment was SO much shorter than our first one. I think we were only there for about 15 minutes! Here's some stats:
Bloodwork: good
Vitals: good
Baby's heartbeat: 140
The BIG ultrasound is scheduled on April 4th, 2012. We should be able to find out if baby is a boy or girl!!!

16 week appointment at the hospital
Yesterday was our appointment with our high risk OB at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. We first met with a genetics counselor who basically just went over some of the prenatal testings that can be done during the first two trimesters. She also told us that our odds of anything being wrong with baby due to my hydrocephalus are slim to none which was really reassuring!
After meeting with her, we went in for an ultrasound to take a peek at the baby and to get measurements. The baby was really active and we got to see a little hand wisk past the screen! :-) The tech did all the measurements that she could, and said that so far everything looked great! Then the high risk OB came in to tell us that since everything looked the way it should, she didn't think that we would have any problems throughout the rest of the pregnancy! She also said that she doesn't see a reason that delivery would be an issue either, so YAY!

13 week appointment
Wow, I'm slow! This appointment was on February 21st, and I'm just posting it now! This appointment lasted a total of 1 hour!
After my OB's nurse gathered information on me and my family's health history, my OB reviewed all the necessary basics on pregnancy to us. She also gave us an ultrasound to make sure there was only ONE baby in there! She wasn't sure if we would be able to actually hear the baby's heart beating yet, but she brought the Doppler along just to see.....and low and behold....we got to hear it!!! It took her a few moments to find it, but when she did, it was beating at a strong 155 bpm!! That was such an awesome sound!!! Even Jake was in awe and said right at that moment, the realization of becoming a Dad was more real!
Anne did want us to see a high risk OB just to get their expertise on my hydrocephalus that I had since birth. So we will be going over to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for that appointment in a few weeks.
